Leaflets and VAT chargesAs flyers and leaflets are generally zero-rated for VAT we do not charge VAT by default. However, there are some exceptions where leaflet printing will need to have VAT added. VAT is chargeable if your leaflet is used as admission to premises, for example using the words 'free admission with this leaflet' or something similar. VAT is also chargeable if your leaflet is used to obtain a discount on goods or services, or if the leaflet has a fillable form designed to be written on. For full details on VAT, please check HMRC's official line. If you are unsure if your leaflet is vatable you can upload your artwork to us and we will advise you if VAT will need to be added. Leaflet printing is generally VAT exempt, however there are some exceptions. Leaflet printing is vatable if the artwork has a discount coupon or a fillable form, or if the leaflet will be used as admission to premises. VAT on graphic design services will be added during the checkout process.
